Some of the Bulgarian mines have again become active in the past few years and some really
outstanding galenas have been found. I've not heard of any of these olive brown Sphalerites,
called Cleophane by the miners, being found again. Most of the Cleophanes were mined from
the Ninth of September mine back in the '90s and they have been conspicuously absent from
the market for a long time except for specimens held back in dealers stock, such as these.
These are all old stock from about 20 years ago and represent the last of these I have available.
The Cleophanevariety of Sphalerite had always been held in very high regard by the miners and
local collectors because of the translucent olive green color and rarity. If you never acquired one
when they first came out, here is an opportunity to get one.
